Advocacy Committee
Committee
- Meets monthly (Zoom); ongoing communications on Slack
- With NAWBO National and NAWBO CA, and using BillTrack50, sets NAWBO OC legislative priorities and engages in advocacy work on behalf of the membership
- Educates members on what advocacy is and why it’s important to small and women-owned business
- Provides opportunities for chapter members to advocate for small and women-owned businesses at the local, state and national levels
- Coordinates Legislative Breakfast and Appointments Training
Legislative Breakfast Planning Team
- Meets monthly July-October with more frequent meetings as needed heading into October event
- Coordinates event that invites NAWBO members to meet and converse with their representatives (and/or candidates) in a structured environment
Corporate Partners Committee
- Meets monthly (Zoom)
- Responsible for prospecting, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding corporate partners to ensure NAWBO OC’s financial solvency
- Maintains corporate partner benefit and renewals matrix to ensure ongoing communication and engagement with corporate partners (See Benefits)
- Oversees program for strategic partnerships with business associations to provide added value to NAWBO OC members and extend visibility of NAWBO OC in the business community
- Builds partnerships with select nonprofits that underscore NAWBO OC’s commitment to empowering women entrepreneurs
Marketing Committee
- Meets monthly (Zoom); ongoing communication on Slack
- Develops and oversees NAWBO OC’s marketing strategy and activities, including:
- Communications and Editorial Calendar (maintained in Google Drive)
- Emails
- Content for and submission of articles/blogs from NAWBO National, NAWBO CA, members and partners

- Social media (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram)
- Website and blog

Membership Committee
- Meets monthly (Zoom); ongoing communication on Slack
- Hosts New and Prospective Member Orientation (Zoom)
- With administrator, oversees New Member Onboarding Process
- Helps members stay connected, including reaching out to members who are inactive and whose memberships have lapsed
- With administrator, oversees Member Renewal Process
- Attends Outreach events, including promotional tabling, on behalf of NAWBO OC
Programs Committee
- Programs committee meets monthly (Zoom)
- With President and administrator, develops and maintains programs calendar (Google calendar)
- Supports Planning Committees for the following, as needed:
- Chapter Meetings
- Meets monthly via Zoom
- With NAWBO OC President, plans quarterly events on second Tuesday (July, October, January, April)
- Member Spotlights
- Meets monthly via Zoom
- Coordinates monthly events on third Wednesday
- Mentoring
- Meets monthly via Zoom
- With support from Dee Elliott, program runs September to March
- Includes planning four Mentor Mastermind sessions

- Power Partners
- Meets monthly via Zoom or as needed
- With NAWBO OC Administrator, ensures teams are functioning, fees are paid, and all Power Partners members are active NAWBO OC members

- Coordinates SCE Edge events
- Coordinates Mentor Mastermind events with Mentoring committee
- Coordinates other educational workshops as necessary
- Supports marketing efforts for NAWBO National webinars
